                                           Dr. (Mrs) Abimbola AKINTOLA

Dr. Abimbola Ganiyat AKINTOLA received B.Sc. degree in Computer Science from Bowen University Iwo, Osun State in 2007, M.Sc degree in Computer Science from University of Ilorin, Ilorin 2011 and Ph.D. degree in Computer Science in 2017. She began her academic career at University of Ilorin, Department of Computer Science in 2012 as an Assistant Lecturer and rose through ranks. She is presently a Lecturer I. Akintola received an award 2014 from the department for the best teaching staff. Her research interests include Information Security, Biometrics, Human Computer Interaction, and Data Mining. A member of the Department of Computer Science since 2012, she is involved in the teaching of both undergraduate/postgraduate courses in Computer Science, Teaching of students in practical aspects of Computer Science and also the Computation and Compilation of graduating student’s result. She is presently the Examination Officer of the Department, a Level Adviser from 2012- 2015. Abimbola belongs to several professional bodies which include Nigeria Computer Society (NCS), Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN), IEEE Computer Society, the Science Association of Nigeria (SAN) and presently state coordinator Nigeria Women in Information Technology Society, Nigeria (NIWIT). She has served in many administrative capacities in the university including Faculty Representative at GNS Board, Faculty Representative at CIE, Chairperson, Departmental Examination Committee, Secretary, Departmental Curriculum Review Committee, Member, Faculty Staff Disciplinary Committee, Member, Departmental Accreditation Committee, Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science (PGDCS) Programme Coordinator, Editorial Secretary, International Journal of Information Processing and Communication (IJIPC), Member, Faculty Committee on Open Educational Resources among others. She has several publications in Local, national and international journals.
